Posture, Fascia, and Fitness!

Integrative Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Massage, LLC provides the residents of Kewaskum and surrounding communities with massage for orthopedic-related pain and injuries. I’m Lori Bersch, orthopedic massage therapist, and when you come to see me for pain or an injury I take your therapeutic care to a whole different level. My clinical reasoning skills and ability to execute an integrative therapeutic program in collaboration with your doctors, orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and chiropractors is what sets me apart from a lot of other massage therapists. This combination makes a profound difference in the rehabilitation and recovery stages, enhancing the effects of your current pain management treatments and speeding up the healing process. I invite you to go to my website and read more about my services, view my bio, and read what my clients have to say at www.integrative-orthopedic.com.
I work hard to bring you highly sought after services that will change lives and encourage healing long after you leave my office. After years of long hours, late nights, and working with thousands of sore bodies, I have implemented a unique combination of three therapeutic phases that are critical to the progress of pain and injury recovery for any individual.
Last summer I obtained Certified Posture Expert credentials from the American Posture Institute, qualifying me to assess for posture-related structural, functional, and neurological factors that contribute to pain. The Posture Analysis contains critical evaluations that I’m able to provide to your health care providers pertaining to your soft tissue conditions that may not be specifically tested for in a traditional medical setting. My knowledge of how to appropriately address postural distortions caused by musculoskeletal dysfunctions has been an enormous benefit to my clients. In one case, within a 12-week period, we reported a client’s 25% improvement in forward head posture correction along with a great reduction in pain and increased mobility, without restricting the activities at work that progress the condition. That’s incredible progress and we have pictures to support it!
In 2016, I also started implementing fascia therapy. This has been a game changer for my clients who suffer from chronic pain and postural distortions. Fascia, the connective web that envelops every muscle, organ and bone in the body from head to toe, can have a huge impact on your postural health. While implementing this type of work into sessions, my clients have reported pain relief, increased range of motion and joint mobility, reduction in adhesions and scar tissue, and improvement in posture.
The main reasons people seek assistance from health and fitness professionals is to relieve musculoskeletal pain so they can participate in exercise programs and enjoy daily activities. One of the things that I observe on a daily basis in chronic pain and injury clients is that a lot of them lack the basic foundation of injury prevention; healthy posture and a strong core musculature. If you’ve ever injured yourself trying to get tone or shed a few extra pounds you may be able to relate to this. As a casualty of this myself repeatedly over the years, I understand how frustrating this can be. Moving forward into 2017, I’ll be introducing personal training for individuals who have been plagued by pain and injuries caused by musculoskeletal imbalances. I will provide you with the knowledge of how to exercise safely using correct posture, exercises to help you gain flexibility and balance in your body, and help you set the foundation for a pain-free exercise regimen.
For the past 5 months I’ve been contributing educational information through my bi-weekly posture awareness column in the Kewaskum Statesman. In the new year, my column will be focusing on how massage, fascia therapy, posture, and fitness help specific pain-related conditions. If you haven’t been following my column, I encourage you to go to my website and view my blog for articles from past issues. You can find them at www.integrative-orthopedic.com. Then keep an eye out for them in the Kewaskum Statesman every other week.
If you or anyone you know suffers from chronic pain or injuries, I’d like to invite you to visit me at Driven to Better Health Night on Thursday, March 30th at Kewaskum High School to learn more and personally ask me questions about how massage can help transform your posture, fascia, and fitness, and possibly even your life. I’ll be doing a drawing to give away a one-hour orthopedic massage session that includes a complete postural analysis and fitness screening. You can also purchase tickets for a chance to win one of (2) Therapeutic Wellness Massages in the general raffle. I look forward to seeing you at this event. I’m committed to continually customizing my services to enhance your healing so you can move better, feel better, and live better!
