Use Your HSA or FSA Card for Massage

November 1, 2018

Increasingly, the medical community is recognizing massage therapy as an effective complementary treatment for a range of health conditions and injuries. Patients may experience a wide range of symptoms from significant inflammation and soft tissue damage, to loss of musculoskeletal flexibility. Massage can help restore function and structural balance throughout the entire body, facilitating the healing process to reduce recovery time. We offer a gentle, natural, and integrative approach to the treatment of soft tissue and musculoskeletal conditions, accepting HSA and FSA cards for massages!

HSA’s (Health Savings Accounts) and FSA’s (Flexible Spending Accounts) are tax-advantaged accounts that allow you to set aside pre-tax funds from your paycheck towards medical expenses. They can be used for a wide variety of different things, most commonly co-pays, out of pocket medical expenses, medications, etc. There is a whole long list of things that they can cover, including massage!

HOW DO I GO ABOUT USING MY HSA/FSA?

We accept HSA/FSA cards just like a regular credit/debit card. Before using your card though, check with your plan to see if massage is a covered expense and if it requires a doctor prescription. Your doctor may write you a prescription for massage for things like stress, diabetes, anxiety, arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraines, back pain, neck pain, hip pain, or injury recovery. Your massage prescription should state the reason you need massage, how often you should get a massage, the treatment length (usually 30 or 60 minutes), and how many sessions are recommended. We will always provide you a payment receipt with all the required information for your records.

If you have any questions about using your HSA or FSA card, consult with your company's human resource department. Then call us to book your massage or schedule online to start using your tax-free dollars to pay for your massage today!
