Medical Massage

Being in an auto accident, being injured, or having surgery can be a traumatic experience. In addition to physical pain, a lot of patients also experience emotional trauma. Some of our clients report a sense of hopelessness, anger, and become frustrated with the slow recovery process. When a client starts to feel the benefits of their treatments it can give them a fresh outlook on their progress.

Medical massage offers outcome based benefits during recovery with a gentle, natural approach to the rehabilitation.

Key Elements to Medical Massage:

  • Reduces Pain:  Helps with pain from spasms and cramps. Massage increases blood and lymph fluid flow, thereby speeding the injury rehabilitation process.

  • Reduce Scar Tissue; Massage influences the excretion of certain fluids necessary for tissue repair. Scar tissue can be lessened with massage.

  • Motion and Flexibility: Massage can help relax overly tense muscles and provide additional flexibility.

  • Shortens Recovery Time: Massage increases blood flow and lymph fluid, both assisting in the body’s natural healing process, speeding waste removal and general health improvement. Swelling and inflammation associated with physical activity is also reduced.

  • Supply of Oxygen and Nutrients: Blood flow into muscles is vital to creating new tissue and increased strength and stamina.

  • Psychological Benefits: The body is only as strong as the mind, so having a strong mind that is relaxed and focused is a definite healing advantage.
